Children of Morta for PC is a retro-style development that combines elements of role-playing games and bagels. Morta is a mountain that is guarded by generations of the Bergson family living on a hillside. However, due to the influence of mysterious power, the source of life, located deep inside the mountain, is corrupted, turning nearby creatures into bloodthirsty monsters. Playing as family members, we need to collect the seeds of life and use them to stop the spread of evil. We play as several members of the Bergson family, each of whom has special abilities and fighting style.
The gameplay is focused on passing procedurally generated levels, collecting items and fighting monsters. While the game takes a lot from classic roguelike and hack’n’slash games, it also offers a rich history with many third-party themes. The developers force us to make complex decisions that quite often affect the future plot, allowing us to create our own unique experience. Obviously, Children of Morta also includes character and inventory development systems, as well as, in accordance with modern standards, the creation of mechanisms for modifying our equipment. There is also alchemy, which means we can make various potions.
