What to Play Right Now - Best PC Games 2023

The year 2023 was very productive and generous with various AAA games. Some of them were mega-successful, and some remained at the bottom of the ratings and brought only losses and shame for some studios (hello Activision Blizzard). In this article, we will talk about the best games that were released in 2023 and which are definitely worth playing.

Baldur’s Gate 3

It is a game that definitely will be among the nominations for Game of the Year 2023. Overall, this is a classic RPG game with DnD features, in which you can do almost anything. Do you want to be an evil character? The developers know this and have prepared unique dialogues, consequences, and battles. Do you want to play online poker for real money? Unfortunately, there is no such option in Baldur’s Gate 3, but gambling by rolling a die on 20 or 1 is a pretty good alternative because the plot and history of many characters can depend on it.

Hogwarts Legacy

There are quite a few games based on Harry Potter, but they were all developed during the hype of films about the boy wizard, and gamers and fans have been waiting for something decent for a very long time. In truth, LEGO Harry Potter was the best, but Hogwarts Legacy took its place. The game is undoubtedly not about Harry, but the whole spirit and atmosphere of the universe remain authentic and even better.

Remnant 2

Since Elden Ring was released in 2022, many did not expect something souls like in 2023, except for Remnant 2. On the one hand, this is a shooter filled with a gloomy atmosphere and a fascinating plot that will send you to a post-apocalyptic world where people are on the verge of extinction. On the other hand, bosses, game mechanics, combat, and other soul features are executed flawlessly here. Although the ratings of Remnant 2 were slightly moved up a few months later by Lords of the Fallen, the souls-like shooter is quite good.

In addition, Remnant 2 is available for multi-player co-op play, which is much more variable than in Dark Souls or Elden Ring, where it is used only as assistance from other players and not as part of the main gameplay.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

The Resident Evil series is always a successful and stable brand that was interesting to play 10+ years ago and now in a new shell, but with the same characters, bosses, locations, etc. Resident Evil 4 is rightfully considered one of the best remakes in the series. It was obvious that after the release of successful remakes for the second and third parts, the fourth would not be long in coming.

Capcom left several references to the 2007 version of Resident Evil, which amused fans and improved the combat system, but at the same time, did not remove various game mechanics from the old version. Gamers still need to break yellow paint barrels with loot, collect weed, and be able to use an RPG to one-shot any boss in the game.

Dead Space Remake

Let’s not stray too far from successful remakes and talk about Dead Space. In general, the game turned out to be the same in terms of plot, but the horror atmosphere, graphics, shooting and level design became much better.

Even those who have replayed the original part will find something new in the new game. It would be a crime to spoil the plot of the remake – they changed a lot in it, made what was happening more logical, and gave a little more time to some heroes. It’s very interesting to get to know them again and compare how it was before and after. Fortunately, it turned out very well, because even ardent fans of the series should be satisfied with the remake of their favorite game.

Not Very Successful Games 2023

Now you know what to play, but what about what is better not to buy or download? One of the first game releases in 2023 that come to mind is Diablo 4 – another failed project from Activision Blizzard. If you want to play Diablo, it is better to give preference to the second part since it was made by the more competent and not greedy Blizzard studio.
